See what our customers are saying about their experience with us:

“As for most of us, my boat is like another child to me. I nurture it and it provides me with a ton of happiness, so I’m pretty particular in the service given to her. I am so pleased with every service and person I have dealt with at Hartge. I feel I’m fairly hands-on, so I want to know the details….
The experience has been exceptional; from making the schedule work, to the tech input on any diagnosis, to implementation. I grade them all at A+. Thanks for taking such good care of MyDNA!

When I purchased my Cape Dory 28 in 2004 it was on the hard at a marina on the Magothy River. Since we live in Fairfax Station, Virginia, I wanted to locate nearer my home. After several trips by car to marinas near Annapolis I decided to locate at a marina on Whitehall Creek. The distance from our home to this marina was 60 miles and took about 90 minutes. The amenities at the marina were minimal — a narrow slip on one of the docks, a small restroom, inadequate parking especially on weekends and no social activities whatsoever. I stayed there for three years never realizing there were other marinas with much more to offer.

One weekend in the spring of 2007 my wife and I drove from Deale to Annapolis looking for another marina closer to home and one offering more amenities. A fellow runner and long-time sailor kept his Cape Dory 30 at the Hartge Yacht Harbor in Galesville and suggested we take a good look at his marina. The following weekend we met with the Hartge staff, walked the docks and signed up for slip 230 at Dock D that same day.

This was one of the smartest things I have done during my 25 years of boating! The Hartge Yacht Harbor has so much to offer — a very friendly and professional staff, a well-protected marina in a quaint neighborhood, plenty of parking, a recently renovated restroom with showers, a well-equipped stockroom and social events that surpass most marinas in the area. These include a spring sock burning party, Saturday morning bagels, doughnuts and coffee throughout the summer, happy-hour each last Friday of the month during the summer, fall customer appreciation night with live music and service specials throughout the year. Each year a small garden is planted at the end of my dock where tomatoes, squash, cucumbers and peppers are grown and are offered for all to enjoy And the good part for someone like me who lives in Virginia — a 50 mile 60 minute drive from our home to the marina!

Perhaps the most appreciated gesture on the part of Hartge took place this spring when, after delaying my launch by a week because of other boats being in the way, the service department cleaned and painted the hull of my Cape Dory at no charge — how’s that for keeping a customer happy?”

“Our Tartan 34, ARIES, has ”lived” at Herrington Harbour South marina (13 years) and Mears Annapolis Marina ( 3 years), so she has had a good sample of boating facilities on the Chessie… Our recent move to Hartge Yacht Harbor gave us the real chance to relax, tone down, and enjoy your old but enchanting facility. HYH is the closest thing to perfection we have found!”

“Hi Michael and crew,

Just thought I’d let you know that we made it home today. The engine performed flawlessly and reliably, and the beautiful bright work got us here in style. Not to mention everything else you’ve done to keep Karass shipshape during her time at HYH. Thanks again for your all’s hard work to get us off on schedule.
We’re missing Hartge’s already…but it is nice to be home.”

Best,
Gregg
